Quelque part sur le tron\u00e7on tranquille entre Montr\u00e9al et Ottawa, nous avons re\u00e7u un appel qui commen\u00e7ait comme tant d\u2019autres : \u00ab Le camion ne bouge plus, le moteur s\u2019\u00e9teint de fa\u00e7on al\u00e9atoire. \u00bb Ce qui a suivi s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00eatre l\u2019un de nos d\u00e9pannages les plus \u00e9tranges sur la route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notre technicien est arriv\u00e9 sur place et a trouv\u00e9 un Freightliner r\u00e9cent qui d\u00e9marrait normalement, tournait quelques minutes, puis calait myst\u00e9rieusement \u2014 aucun code d\u2019erreur, aucun voyant, rien. Le conducteur avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 remplac\u00e9 les filtres \u00e0 carburant et chang\u00e9 les batteries. Toujours en panne \u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons approfondi l\u2019analyse. Avec l\u2019ordinateur portable connect\u00e9, nous avons surveill\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es en temps r\u00e9el et rep\u00e9r\u00e9 de l\u00e9g\u00e8res chutes de tension sur la ligne CAN juste avant chaque arr\u00eat. Un cas classique de signaux fant\u00f4mes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Le coupable ? Un capteur de niveau de DEF en court-circuit, enfoui dans le faisceau de c\u00e2bles du r\u00e9servoir \u2014 il renvoyait juste assez de parasites pour faire planter tout le module ECM. Pire encore, le probl\u00e8me ne se manifestait qu\u2019une fois le r\u00e9servoir r\u00e9chauff\u00e9 et la pression modifi\u00e9e. Un v\u00e9ritable probl\u00e8me d\u2019aiguille dans une botte de foin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons contourn\u00e9 temporairement le capteur, isol\u00e9 le c\u00e2ble d\u00e9fectueux et lanc\u00e9 manuellement une r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pour \u00e9liminer toutes les r\u00e9ductions de puissance associ\u00e9es. Le camion est reparti en pleine forme et n\u2019a plus cal\u00e9 \u2014 le conducteur est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 Ottawa avec de l\u2019avance et une toute nouvelle reconnaissance envers notre \u00e9quipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parfois, ce ne sont pas les gros probl\u00e8mes qui vous arr\u00eatent \u2014 ce sont ceux invisibles, que vous ne pouvez pas voir, \u00e0 moins de vraiment<\/em> savoir o\u00f9 chercher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
